皖风酒是玉米、糯米、高粱米、大米、荞麦等为原料酿造的基酒，由于采用的原料系五谷杂粮，因此老百姓统称该酒为杂粮油。 六十年代，我厂以生产基酒为主，由于酿造工艺独特，原酒醇绵浓郁，销售遍布全国各地排名全国基酒销量前十位。 九十年代末总厂研制生产皖风牌系列白酒畅销全国各地，迅速弥补市场出现的不足，使价格不再透明化，产品荣获了“２００５年度畅销品牌之一”荣誉称号。
